About these terms
These terms apply when you book an appointment, buy frames, lenses or contact lenses, or join the Optotype Care plan at Optotype Eye Studio Ltd, 14 Cadence Yard, London E8 3RL.
They do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Appointments
Please arrive five minutes early and bring your current glasses, contact lenses and a list of the medicines you take.
If you can’t make it, tell us at least 24 hours before. Missed appointments without notice may be charged £15. NHS sight tests are never charged.

Prices and payment
Prices on this site are the prices in the studio and include VAT where it applies. Eye tests are VAT-exempt.
Frames and lenses are made to order: we take a 50% deposit when you order and the balance when you collect.

Frames on hold
We hold a frame for 14 days after your deposit. After that, it goes back on the wall and the deposit is credited to a future order.

Our guarantees
Prescription change: if your prescription changes within 60 days of collection, we remake your lenses for free.
Non-adaptation: if you can’t get on with new varifocals within 60 days, we remake them once, as single-vision or a different design, at no extra cost.
Frames are guaranteed for 12 months against manufacturing faults.

Returns and refunds
Glasses and contact lenses are made to your prescription, so they can’t be returned just because you changed your mind.
If something is faulty or not as described, you are entitled to a repair, a replacement or a refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Unopened, in-date contact lenses bought online can be returned within 14 days.

Optotype Care
Optotype Care is a monthly plan, paid by direct debit, that covers the eye tests, scans and contact lens checks listed on the Prices page.
You can cancel at any time with no fee and no notice period. Benefits stop at the end of the month you have paid for.

Clinical note
This website is for information and does not replace an eye examination.
If your vision changes suddenly, or you see flashes, new floaters or a shadow over your sight, go to A&E or call 111 now.

Governing law
